Food and wine events in September

September sees the start of a packed calendar of food and wine events that will take you on a journey of discovery of the region's most famous specialities, with tastings, meetings with producers and celebrations of tradition in the beautiful setting of the Visit Emilia region.

PIACENZA

• Taste and stroll: until 19 October, the festival is dedicated to wines, fermented products (water, flour and wines), truffles and forest products.
• Valtidone Wine Fest: 7 - 28 September, Piacenza wine is celebrated in the setting of the Val Tidone hills.
• Divine Sunset in Piacenza: 19 September, wine takes centre stage during an evening in the shadow of Palazzo Gotico.
• Chestnut Festival: 28 September, Vezzolacca hosts the “Bionda” Chestnut Festival in September.
• Mushroom and Truffle Exhibition and Grape Festival in Bobbio: 5 October, a market displaying local products takes place in the streets of the village from early morning.

PARMA

• Borgotaro Porcino Mushroom Fair: 20 - 28 September, the 50th edition of the fair to discover and taste the delicious Porcini mushroom.

REGGIO EMILIA

• Autumn sips: 3 September - 5 October Scandiano hosts three food and wine evenings featuring wine and beer.
• Grapes Festival: 17 - 21 September in Castellarano shows, cultural events, photographic exhibitions, historical re-enactments, market and much more.
• Pumpkin Fair: 20–28 September, numerous tastings and pumpkin-based specialities in Reggiolo. 
• Lost Plants and Animals: 27 - 28 September,  in Guastalla, an immense showcase of biodiversity.
