  • First stop - San Valentino Golf Club in Castellarano, Reggio Emilia Castellarano

    The San Valentino Golf Club is situated in a valley over 300 metres above sea level in the neighbourhood of the same name, in the municipality of Castellarano. It is surrounded by over 130 hectares of woodland and green pastures and boasts 4 lakes. Despite the few water obstacles, the 18-hole championship golf course is highly intriguing thanks to its hilly terrain and the considerable difference in height between the holes. The very fast greens are nearly all protected by bunkers. The width of the fairways varies, with constantly changing degrees of difficulty and emotion. The beautiful clubhouse, which covers an area of over 3,000 square metres, stands between holes 9 and 18 and welcomes players and their partners in elegant and comfortable surroundings.

    TECHNICAL DATA: 18 holes, par 72, 6,203 metres, inaugurated in 1997.

    FACILITIES: putting green, pitching green with bunker, driving range with 18 uncovered and 12 covered positions, bar, refreshment stands, swimming pool, cardio-fitness gym, pro-shop, angling lake, restaurant, hotel, congress centre with a giant screen for videoconferencing, party room, games, reading and TV lounge, massage room, nature trail with gym in the wood, climbing wall and survivor course, whirlpool and golf cart and trolley hire.

    SEASON: open all year round, closed on Tuesdays (except bank holidays).

  • Second stop - Matilde di Canossa Golf Club in San Bartolomeo, Reggio Emilia Reggio nell'Emilia

    The Matilde di Canossa Golf Club, which was founded in 1987, is situated just outside the city in the heart of the marvellous “Matildic Lands”. The spectacular setting offers magnificent views of an area that is full of history and tradition. The course, designed by the architect Marco Croze, has 18 holes on a course of over 6,200 metres, par 72, and is characterised by a huge variety of configurations, due above all to the Quaresimo Stream that flows through the entire course. The gentle natural slopes and vegetation make the game technical, fascinating and extremely entertaining. The course is surrounded by enchanting panoramic views, offering an exciting sense of freedom and direct contact with nature.

    TECHNICAL DATA: 18 holes, par 72, 6,231 metres, inaugurated in 1987, designed by Marco Croze.

  • Third stop - Golf Del Ducato in sala Baganza, Parma Sala Baganza

    La Rocca course at Golf Del Ducato stands in the heart of the Food Valley, where golf and gastronomy blend to form a magical union. Founded in 1985 on the outskirts of the Boschi di Carrega Regional Park and just 10 minutes from Parma, it stands amid oak and acacia woods, splendid small lakes and gently rolling hills that give life to an extraordinary parkland of 18 holes with unforgettable views. The club restaurant is renowned for its traditional regional dishes and local specialities, focusing in particular on two excellences that are famous worldwide - PDO Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and PDO Parma ham.

    TECHNICAL DATA: 18 holes, par 72, 6,103 metres, inaugurated in 1985, designed by Marco Croze, it has since been partially redesigned and modified by Luigi Rota Caremoli, 295 metres above sea level.

  • Fourth stop - Golf Salsomaggiore Terme, Parma Salsomaggiore Terme

    Set on the gently rolling hills near Salsomaggiore Terme and surrounded by a 70-hectare natural paradise, Salsomaggiore Terme Golf Club is the ideal place for enjoying a break surrounded by an oasis of tranquillity, far from the hustle and bustle of city life. The new management team (part of the group that successfully runs Ducato di Parma Golf Club)completely refurbished the buildings and the course in January 2018, giving new life to the greens and opening tees that are now in perfect condition. With its 18 championship holes, the course winds its way along a quiet and spectacularly-beautiful valley and has excellent technical features and wonderful landscapes. 

    Gently rolling fairways and perfectly tended greens allow players of all levels to challenge themselves on a superb course. It has a spacious and elegant club house, with an extraordinary terrace that overlooks the valley where the first nine holes of the course are located and that affords breath-taking views. It is the ideal place to combine golf, nature, delicious cuisine and quality wine. Other facilities included a pool and solarium, a restaurant and a pro shop for all Salsomaggiore Terme Golf Club guests to enjoy.

    TECHNICAL DATA: 18 holes, par 72, 5,761 metres, at 360 metres above sea level with 3 lakes that affect 5 holes.

    FACILITIES: driving range with 15 positions, 5 of which are covered, pitching green, putting green, golf carts, club, electric and manual trolley hire, pro shop, bar, restaurant, swimming pool, car park, locker rooms and TV lounge. The Head Professionals Alberto Limonta and Norbert Aziaga gives individual, group and golf clinic lessons for all players.

    SEASON: open all year round, closed on non-holiday Wednesday from 1 October to 30 April.

  • Fifth stop - Golf Club Castell’Arquato, Piacenza Castell'Arquato

    Inaugurated in 1991, the Castell’Arquato Golf Club stands at the point where the lush valleys around Piacenza meet the rolling hillsides of Parma. The course is set in 64 hectares of countryside at about 220 metres above sea level. It is just a dozen or so kilometres from Piacenza and near the beautiful mediaeval borough of Castell’Arquato. The course has 18 Championship holes, set in a green and meandering valley. This prestigious course was designed by Cotton & Pennick and is demanding yet fun for both expert players and beginners. Golfers can take a short break or spend a few hours relaxing in the bright, spacious club house.

    TECHNICAL DETAILS: 18 holes, par 73, 6,052 metres, opened in 1991.

    FACILITIES: practice course with 20 stations, 6 of which are covered, putting green, golf carts, golf club hire, electric and manual pull trolleys, pro-shop, bar, restaurant, car park, locker room, TV lounge and massage room, available subject to booking. The instructor, Antonio Pelle, is always on hand for individual or group lessons.

    OPEN: open all year round; closed on Tuesdays unless a public holiday and from December 20th to January 12th.

  • Sixth stop - Croara Country Club in Gazzola, Piacenza Gazzola

    Croara Country Club is found on Emilia’s north-western border, a few kilometres from Piacenza, in a hilly area that is positively influenced by Liguria’s weather. The course’s particularly favourable location, halfway between the Trebbia River alluvial deposits and the foothills of the Apennines, offers a variety of views and game opportunities. You’ll find 18 highly technical holes, with fairly narrow fairways, surrounded by oaks, chestnuts, poplars, and locust-trees, and fascinating scenery along the riverbanks. The course has already hosted a top-notch international event, the first Italian Women’s Open.

    TECHNICAL DATA: 18 holes, par 72, 6,065 metres, the first 9 holes designed by Buratti and inaugurated in 1975, the rest designed by Croze and Lo Cascio and inaugurated in 1983.
