The exhibition Favole da Cortile (Fables from the Courtyard) celebrates the artist Gianfranco Asveri, a distinguished citizen of Castell'Arquato, in the rooms of the 13th-century Palazzo del Podestà.
The monographic exhibition displays about 30 works in a journey that straddles dream and reality, fairy tale and contemporary art, childhood and memories.
On view from March 23 to May 12 2024, the exhibition provides an insight into the extremely rich and textured painting of an artist and poet who developed an almost childlike and universal style. Primary forms and colors blend into a full-bodied material, resulting in works of small and large format, with subjects that refer to a fantasy world and at the same time to anecdotes about his homeland.
Workshops held by the author for children and young people are planned during the exhibition.
Free admission.
