From 13 December 2023 to 16 March 2024, Galleria Biffi Arte presents the exhibition "Il dottor Simonetti e i suoi pazienti"(Simonetti and his patients) that narrates the origins of the relationship between the proctologist Simonetti and a number of artists of whom he became a collector.
The interest in art of Fede Simonetti, sister and collaborator of the luminary, and his lab nurse assistant Rosa Mazzolini are at the origin of a collection that represents a cross-section of Milan in the mid-20th century. Among the artists represented: Ottone Rosai, Mario Sironi, Fiorenzo Tomea, the Pomodoro brothers, Antonio Recalcati, Giorgio De Chirico, Filippo de Pisis.
The exhibition displays 28 of the more than 800 works that make up the Simonetti Mazzolini Collection, donated by the nurse to the Diocese of Piacenza and Bobbio and (partially) exhibited at the Abbey of San Colombano in Bobbio.
