Musica in Castello is a series of free-entry performances featuring national and international artists in exceptional locations.
Now in its 21st edition, the event attracts an ever-growing audience each year, reaching up to fifty thousand spectators. The series offers 40 events from June 21st to September 12th, opening the doors to some magical and evocative places, such as squares and historic buildings that characterize the Parma region, and beyond.
Over the past twenty years, some of these have become symbolic for the series, such as the square in Fontanellato (PR) with its fortress, the Labirinto della Masone (PR), the Rocca dei Rossi in San Secondo Parmense (PR), and the Renaissance village of Sabbioneta (MN).
Among the new locations for the series that stand out are the Davines Village, described as "a bright greenhouse with modern and light architecture" in the province of Parma, and the Agorà Orsi Coppini Museum, dedicated to the olive tree and olive oil, surrounded by ancient plants, old mills, and production equipment.
