On the last weekend in September, this event highlighting the area's food and wine products comes to Piacenza.
Piacenza's gastronomic weekend
returns to the setting of the city center on Saturday, Sept. 24 and Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022.
The protagonists of the tastings will be Piacenza's PDOs: coppa, pancetta, and salami flanked by other renowned PDO and PGI products from Emilia-Romagna: Prosciutto di Parma PDO, Parmigiano Reggiano PDO, and traditional balsamic vinegar from Reggio Emilia PDO, which will be accompanied in the tasting plates by Squacquerone di Romagna PDO and others by 0-kilometer cheeses, the ever-present Piadina Romagnola PGI, PGI peaches and nectarines of Romagna, and other delicacies.
On the wine front, the master sommeliers of AIS Emilia Romagna will propose pairings with local wines, represented by at least 15 labels.
The fil rouge for the current edition is Salumi. The subtitle reads There is a Country where Food Masterpieces have always been made - On the Trails of Piacenza's PDO Salumi - The History, the Hand of Man, the Territory.
