The "Dead Parma" Nature Reserve (founded 1990) is near Mezzani and stretches for 5 km along the old branch of the River Parma.
It includes a circular route through countryside which can be completed on foot, by bike or on horse-back.
Places to see include the dell’Annunziata Church of 1745 (Mezzan0 Rondani) and the 12th C Church of San Michele (Mezzano Superiore).
