Friday, May 1 – Grand falconry displays in the ancient manor
At Tabiano Castle, we will guide you in discovering the secrets of falconry, an ancient and noble art once practiced by kings and emperors, and still alive today in some parts of the world.
Falconry shows will take place at 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM, and before and after the shows it is possible to join guided tours of the Castle.
“We decided to organize this event to revive a tradition of great importance for the Castle,” explains Giacomo Corazza Martini, owner of the castle and author of several volumes on the history of Tabiano. “Falcon hunting was in fact the favorite activity of Emperor Frederick II of Swabia, ally of Marquis Uberto Pallavicino the Great, lord of Tabiano in the 13th century.”
Guided tours will start at 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM, lasting approximately one hour, following a route through rooms decorated with frescoes, mirrors and coats of arms, the large vaulted cellars, the park with centuries-old trees, the panoramic terraces, the grand staircase and the ancient library.
