The Maramotti Collection hosts a big solo exhibition by Viviane Sassen, consisting of over fifty photographs and a video work created from 2005 to 2025, with some new works specifically conceived for this occasion.
The exhibition, which is part of the 20th edition of the European Photography Festival, Avere vent’anni (Being Twenty), is the most extensive presentation of Sassen’s work in Italy to date and is curated by the artist herself.
Through a non-narrative structure, built through visual fragments and formal links between apparently very different images, Sassen invites us to enter her multifaceted, dreamlike and seductive universe, distilled from everyday life, instilled with Surrealism, resulting from the artist’s interaction (her fantasies, obsessions, memories and fears) with the outside world.
