From April 16, anticipating Milan Design Week by a few days, to June 18, the Volumnia space will host the exhibition Franco Albini. Metodo e Poesia (Method and Poetry) dedicated to a master of architecture and design.

The exhibition was created with the intention of drawing attention to certain aspects that link Franco Albini's work: from architectural to furniture design.

The exhibition introduces the visitor to the figure of Franco Albini with a room dedicated to the relationship between the architect and the territory of Piacenza. A second part analyzes Albini's world of furniture through the display of several historical pieces, including the Luisa armchair, Compasso d'oro 1955.

The exhibition was created with the idea of highlighting the poetic afflatus that characterizes the designer's approach in both architecture and in design projects.
On display will be some pieces from the 1930s from private collections never before exhibited to the public.

The exceptional location for this event is the Volumnia Gallery, on Stradone Farnese, housed in a former 17th-century deconsecrated church, the former St. Augustine's Church, former site of a monastery, later converted into barracks. The ecclesiastical building has now become home to the gallery, which, alongside its own collection, offers exhibitions dedicated to contemporary art and design.
