TEATRO MUNICIPALE DI PIACENZA
Piacenza
Defined by Stendhal as the most beautiful theater in Italy, it boasts a particular avant-garde structure and great elegance. In 1895 it became the first theater in the country to be entirely illuminated by electric lamps. His three-quarter ellipse-shaped room was an innovation in the nineteenth century, thanks to the work of Lotario Tomba who revolutionized the principles of canonical European theater architecture. Over time, the theatre has been enriched by the works of Alessandro Sanquirico and his students. The Guard of scene by Domenico Menozzi is very beautiful, restored in 2007.
SALA DEI TEATINI
Piacenza
Once the church of San Vincenzo belonged to the Order of Teatini, its frescoes have been inaccessible for years; a great restoration work allowed to recover them, as well as the wooden works and the facade. Today’s modern auditorium, at the forefront of technical and acoustic solutions, has been chosen as the rehearsal room of the Youth Orchestra "Luigi Cherubini" conducted by Maestro Riccardo Muti, based in Piacenza.
The initiative also includes a guided tour of the historic center of Piacenza in the following days:

TEATRINO DEL CASTELLO DI VIGOLENO
Vigoleno (Piacenza)
Probably one the smallest theatres in the world, it was designed by Russian painter Alexandr Jacovleff in the twenties. Exotic style and rich in symbolism, the hall is a triumph of suggestions and details bound in a dense vegetation that reminds of Severini’s magic realism.
