On Sunday, July 13th, the thrilling Ecomaratona del Ventasso returns, a mountain running competition set in the breathtaking natural scenery of the Reggio Emilia Apennines.
This unique event combines the challenge of sport with the untouched beauty of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine National Park, offering participants an unforgettable experience immersed in nature.
The course is conducted in complete safety, almost entirely on dirt roads, alternating between chestnut and beech forests, moorlands, stone villages, and the refreshing springs of Lake Calamone.
The challenging elevation gain of approximately 2300 meters ranges from 800 meters to the summit of Mount Ventasso (1727 meters), from which the eye can take in the Apennine ridge stretching towards Tuscany and Lunigiana.
