Open Monasteries

Regional events along the Linari Route– the lands along the Via Francigena.
A cloistered monastery opens its doors to welcome those who want to experience its atmosphere for a day.

Price: starting from € 8 per person

A day in Santa Maria della Neve (Holy Mary of the Snow) in Torrechiara - Parma

10.00 am: guided visit to the Monastery, the Church and the Belvedere.
12.30 am: full lunch served in the Refectory, optional.
2.30 pm: free time in the Belvedere, along the Parma river, optional.

Participation fee, guided tour with personal audio-guide to guarantee the proper distance: € 8

Complete lunch in the Refectory = € 22 per person

For those who participate in both activities: € 28 fee

In the footsteps of Santa Chiara, in the Apennines

10.30 am: Meeting with the Poor Clares Sisters who live in the Monastery
12.30 am: Pilgrim's lunch at the Locanda dei Cavalieri (inns of the knights) at Ranzano

MENU: Trio of tortelli (pasta filled in with spinach) or lasagna (pasta filled in with minced meat) - Stew with meat, vegetables and seasonal mushrooms or Omelette with wild herbs - Homemade cakes - water, wine and coffee

2.30 pm: transfer to Lalatta, for a guided tour of the Church and introduction to the fascinating Valle dei Cavalieri (knights' valley), followed by a guided tour of the Zibana Chapel and the Lugagnano Bridge.

Participation fee for the whole day, including guided tour - full lunch – story telling = € 30 per person
