Arrival in Colorno early morning.
Guided visit to the exhibition “Adornamenti da tavola della duchessa. Porcellane europee settecentesche dei Duchi di Parma”, hosts in the Piano Nobile of the Palace, and to the New Apartment of the Duke Ferdinand of Bourbon and to the Ducal Chapel of Saint Liborio. Sumptuous and monumental residence of the Farnese Family first and then of the Bourbon Family, the Ducal Palace owes its present aspect to the following works which have taken place over the centuries and due to the families who inhabited it, from the Sanseverino Family to the Farnese Family, who entrust the redesign of the facades to Ferdinando Galli Bibiena. At the beginning of the nineteen century, the duchess Marie Louise of Habsburg made it one of the most prestigious Italian residence.
Following entrance in the Historic Garden to “Nel Segno del Giglio”, a gardening exhibition where the best nurseryman in Italy present their collections of flowers and plants. In addition, there will be furnishings of gardens, books, equipment and many tips for green care.
Lunch at your leisure inside the garden exhibition.
In the afternoon transfer to Parma and accommodation at the hotel.
Free afternoon for a walking tour in the historic center to discover exhibitions, shows, expositions and concerts to celebrate Parma 2020 Italian Capital of Culture.
Dinner in a typical restaurant.
08:30am Guided visit to a dairy to see and know in which manner the Parmigiano Reggiano cheese is product. At the end of the visit tasting of the products and possibility to purchase.
10:30am Parma City Tour, a guided walking tour to discover the city center and to admire the main treasures of the city, with entrance to the Cathedral and the wonderful Baptistery.
Lunch at your leisure.
In the afternoon, visit to the Museo Glauco Lombardi (Saturday: opening until 4pm; Sunday, opening until 7pm). The museum exhibits a prestigious collection of art and historical items regarding Maria Luigia of Habsburg and her first husband Napoleone Bonaparte; important works and documents concerning the Duchy of Parma in the 18th and 19th centuries are also kept by the Museum.
Possibility to have teatime at one of the old patisserie in the city center.
