In Reggio Emilia, a licensed local guide will show you the history of the city theatre: the majestic complex of Teatro Municipale Romolo Valli, rounded by public gardens. It characterizes the city centre and covers an area of 3890 square metres. Yearly, hosts a prestigious opera and concert season, including a rich choice of ballet shows. You may visit the Library, the archive, and the historical disco located inside.
The next stop is Gualtieri, a small town close to the Po river. You will discover Bentivoglio Palace, the House- Museum of local painter Antonio Ligabue and Teatro Sociale, a unique theatre where the stage is upside-down, giving unusual perspectives to the traditional dialogue between the actors and the public
A weekend of art and taste includes of course special food experiences with mouth-watering local goodies: Spergola and Lambrusco wine, erbazzone (a typical savoury pie), gnocco (a type of fried bread), cold cuts, Parmigiano Reggiano (parmesan cheese), traditional balsamic and more.
