Civic Museums of Palazzo Farnese

Natural History Museum
Piacenza
The Civic Museum of Natural History of Piacenza is housed in the former Ice Factory inside the Municipal Slaughterhouse, built from 1892 to 1912. The setting is designed to arouse the curiosity and surprise that often characterizes excursions in nature. Three large exhibition rooms house three natural environments into which the provincial territory is divided: plains, hills and mountains.

Ricci Oddi Modern Art Gallery

The second gallery of modern art in Italy for richness and coherence of exposition. A unique museum in the heart of the city of Piacenza.
The collection includes a wide range of works depicting landscapes, portraits and still lives. The exhibited works bear the signature of artists of the calibre of Hayez, Boldini, Segantini, Previati, Sartorio, Mancini, Pellizza Da Volpedo, Fontanesi to which is added a prestigious collection of forty Tuscan Macchiaioli paintings donated on loan to the Gallery.
In addition to the permanent collection, always with the same ticket, the section of the exhibition called: Spaces of Monochromic is also visible.

Abbey Museum of San Colombano and Mazzolini Collection Museum

The Abbey Museum, set up in the rooms that once housed the famous scriptorium and the prestigious library, collects artefacts found during excavations in the surrounding areas and in the crypt of the Basilica of San Colombano, while others come from the Cathedral of Bobbio.
The Mazzolini Collection Museum is located in the monumental rooms of the San Colombano monastery and constitutes a further element of the museum itinerary inside the ancient Abbey.

Archaeological Park - Neolithic Village of Travo

The main feature of the Park, which covers about one hectare, is the preservation in view of part of the prehistoric structures brought to light during the excavation campaigns carried out in the area since 1995 until today.
The Neolithic Village of S. Andrea has an important network of well-preserved housing and functional structures, some of which are now kept in view.

Ettore Guatelli Museum

You can immerse yourself in the vision of Ettore Guatelli: an important person from the Parma area, collector of objects and visionary museographer.
This museum houses numerous pieces to get in touch with poor collectors and with social classes that are rarely told. Guatelli was inspired by true stories of people he met throughout his life, often referring to his installations as the "museum of the obvious and the everyday".
Everything exhibited in the museum shows us the stories of those who lived in the pre-industrial and artisan peasant world.

Antonio Ligabue Museum

The exhibition "Misunderstood. The life of Antonio Ligabue through his works", promoted by the Antonio Ligabue Museum Foundation and the Municipality of Gualtieri, has reopened to the public.
An exhibition that reveals the artist's world through 22 paintings, bronzes and a terracotta mold, including some masterpieces in the film, such as the famous "Self-portrait with scarecrow" and "Diligence with landscape".
The exhibition has been transferred to the Salone dei Giganti, a fully frescoed representation space, whose monumental dimensions guarantee public access in total safety.
