"I miti e i racconti della Montagna – Myths and tales of the Mountain"
Casarola (Parma)
Inspired by the curiosity of the writer Mario Ferraguti, we will be looking for the “fole dell’Appennino, tales created to tame the darkness of the woods, legends that for centuries have weaved the texture of a fantastic world populated by elves, witches and sorcerers, fairies both benevolent and evil.
The book “ dove il vento si ferma a mangiare le pere-where the wind stops to eat pears” becomes a particular map for a magic journey that will start at 10.00am from Casarola, a medieval town located on the paths dedicated to the economy of chestnut and populated by characters of the rural mountain world, legendary beasts and tales of healers.
On this track, ancient chestnut woods and “Gra”-chestnut driers- can be found up to the Fairies Wood of Riana.
Antea, the guide, will read, during the walk, some fragments of the book, so that feet and fantasy will match. The participants will get to know the Regle -a crested snake that was born from a year old egg of rooster hatched by a grass snake-, the Lucabagia – a creature with chicken legs able to create a light that will make men loose themselves in the thick of the wood- and many others.
This excursion is suited to anyone. Prices per person are 13 euros for adults and children older than 12, and 10 euros or children from 7 to 11.
Reservation is required (until exhaustion), up to 6pm of the day previous the excursion.
