A young woman Correggio’s portrait. A masterpiece from the Ermitage Museum in St. Petersburg
St. Peter Cloisters, Reggio Emilia
For 5 months, the San Pietro Cloisters in Reggio Emilia will host one of the Renaissance masterpiece. The work, exceptional loan from the Ermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, is going to arrive in one of the elected lands by the Reggio Emilia artist, five centuries aster its execution, around 1520, thanks to an agreement signed by the Reggio Emilia’s City and by the Magnani Palace Foundation with a Russian Institution.
The young woman portrait by Antonio Allegri (1489 - 1534), named il Correggio, is certainly the most important portrait edited by the painter, a beautiful opera, which hide a lot of enigmas, exposed in the suggestive setting in the St. Peter Cloisters.

What a Wonderful World. The long history of the “Ornamento” between art and culture

An exciting and new trip between the centuries, from the roman age to our contemporary time for understanding how much the “Decorazione” and “Ornamento” can be linked strictly to our life.
The decorative impulse born with the first expressive humanity traces and we are completely wrapped by the ornaments and we are not conscious about that. The idea is know and know again the vocabulary which surrounds us in the daily like tools in the art operas, in fashion field and in the architecture.
The exhibition has works by Albrecht Dürer, Leonardo da Vinci, Giovan Battista Piranesi, William Morris, Koloman Moser, Maurits Cornelis Escher, Pablo Picasso, Henry Matisse, Giacomo Balla, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Peter Halley, Shirin Neshat.

Zavattini over the boundaries. A protagonist in the international culture

An exhibition dedicated to a relevant aspect in the great Za’s life which was hided: his role in the international scenario, during the Cold War and the ideological contrasts. Zavattini had a crucial role for sponsoring the core aspects in the Italian culture in the late twentieth century and in particular in the neorealism, in the europea horizon and in the international horizon, thanks to his intense participation to the congress, conference, training courses in the decolonized states and to the collaboration with newspapers and cinema co-productions.

European Photography 2020: Fantasies. Narrations, rules and inventions

European Photography is an international festival dedicated to the contemporary photography, sponsored by Magnani Palace Foundation and The Reggio Emilia City. Born in 2006, every year is celebrated in Reggio Emilia in different location in the City, public and private, formal and informal.
The Festival every year goes in deep the specific theme through a central core of big exhibitions and a program rich of events which is composed by meetings with artists, conferences, workshops and show site specific.
The 2020 edition theme is Fantasies. Narrations, rules and inventions: in other words, the creativity is a serious game. One hundred year after the birth of two great innovators who from the fantasy and the creativity have made the figure of their innovative charge - loris Malaguzzi and Gianni Rodari. European Photography wants give its contribute, from the point of view of narrative and imaginative thought.
