Level 9. Museo dei luoghi del Novecento in Reggio Emilia
St. Dominic Cloisters, Reggio Emilia
Level 9 is an innovative portal that makes accessible in a single "container" the contemporary history of Reggio Emilia, through the description and the story of some historical and significant places of the city. The virtual museum itinerary is presented in rooms dedicated to specific themes and historical periods, such as the First World War, the Reggio/Africa relationship and the Reggiana Calcio. In 2020 two more rooms will be inaugurated: one dedicated to the city of Reggio Emilia and its population under Second World War's bombing and the other room will tell of the violence committed in Reggio Emilia during the 20th century against demonstrators.

Through the paths of composing. Armando Gentilucci - Autobiography illustrated in the documents
Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali "Achille Peri - Claudio Merulo"
Thirty years after the untimely death of Armando gentilucci (Lecce 1939 - Milan 1989), the bibliographic exhibition retraces the salient stages of the artistic and human experience of the composer, essayist, teacher and organizer, who for twenty years directed the musical institute of the city and deeply engraved in the Italian musical culture.

Creative Element Under 35, Young Italian Photography. Young creativity for social innovation
St. Dominic Cloisters, Reggio Emilia
A program of events and projects will enliven the space of the Cloisters of San Domenico, dedicated to youth creativity, with an interdisciplinary approach and an offer of exhibitions, conferences, performances, residences and training meetings.
The flagship project is represented by Giovane Fotografia Italiana, now in its 8th edition and created as a section under 35 in the framework of the European Photography Festival. A national Public Call selects and finances projects of young visual artists that meet in the European Photography program and are hosted in the partner European festivals.
Over the years has been created a collection of more than five hundred works now available for circuitry . Reconstruction is the theme chosen for the 2020 edition by curators Ilaria Campioli and Daniele De Luigi. The seven projects, selected by an international jury, will be presented in a collective exhibition hosted in the Cloisters of San Domenico during the European Photography Festival (17 April - 24 May 2020).

Raffaello and the European engraving from the 16th to the 19th century

The exhibition celebrated the 500th anniversary of the artist's death (1520-2020) and at the same time wants to announce the publication of the tenth and last volume of the General Catalogue of the Collection of Prints “A. Davoli”.
What is analyzed in the exhibition is the dialogue that the different artistic cultures between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries have woven with the art of Raffaello.

“Incompreso” - La vita di Antonio Ligabue attraverso le sue opere
Palazzo Bentivoglio, piazza Bentivoglio _ Gualtieri (RE)
Anthological exhibition on the occasion of the release of the film dedicated to Antonio Ligabue directed by Giorgio Diritti Volevo Nascondermi”, produced by Palomar and with Elio Germano starring “Toni”.
Inside Sala Giove it will be possible to admire 22 oil paintings and several bronze statues by Ligabue. The works will be displayed in chronological order, so as to observe the evolution of style, technique and themes. On display will also be famous masterpieces depicting animals in motion, “Swiss castles” and the wonderful portrait “Self-portrait with scarecrow”, as well as unpublished documents and photos dating back to the Fifties.

Restless Identity. Between inventions, realty and madness. Works from the San Lazzaro Archive in Reggio Emilia
Museums Palace, Reggio Emilia
The San Lazzaro archive, consisting of more than ten thousand drawings, plastic and pictorial works, is today one of the major European companies in the field of collections born in asylum institutions.
The works exhibited will be from Antonio Ligabue, Mattia Moreni, Pietro Ghizzardi, historical and contemporary works of the Art Brut and the Outsider Art and of the great protagonists of the national and international art.

Augmented reality, tactile interactions, partially immersive experiences will allow access and use of the Orlando Furious able to open up to countless creative, combinatorial and constructive possibilities, as in the lucky “Labyrinth” seventeenth-century, the court game that provided for the identification of the players with the main characters of the Ariostesque poem.

Ruby Onyinyechi Amanze
Collezione Maramotti
Ruby Amanze (1982) is a visual artist whose practice is mainly focused on drawing and working on paper. Through a non-linear and open narrative, his drawings explore space as a ductile construction, focusing on the freedom to play as a revolution, on cultural hybridization or the “non-colonial nationalism” as a common norm.
Design, architecture, skating and Gaga (a technique developed by the dancer and choreographer Ohad Naharin) are some aspects of his current research and artistic practice.

MicroDanze, conceived by Gigi cristoforetti, director of the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto, was born from a collaboration between the National Dance Foundation and Palazzo magnani Foundation in Reggio Emilia. The idea of MicroDanze is bringing the dance on the ground of the art: the exhibition.
We will not have, with MicroDanze, a complete show, but a real exhibition of works danced. 
Micro-choreographies, usually for a single dancer and for a tiny space (little more than the window or stand on which to rest a statue), each signed by a different choreographer.

European Photography 2020: Fantasies. Narrations, rules and inventions

European Photography is an international festival dedicated to the contemporary photography, sponsored by Magnani Palace Foundation and The Reggio Emilia City. Born in 2006, every year is celebrated in Reggio Emilia in different location in the City, public and private, formal and informal.
The Festival every year goes in deep the specific theme through a central core of big exhibitions and a program rich of events which is composed by meetings with artists, conferences, workshops and show site specific.
The 2020 edition theme is Fantasies. Narrations, rules and inventions: in other words, the creativity is a serious game. One hundred year after the birth of two great innovators who from the fantasy and the creativity have made the figure of their innovative charge - loris Malaguzzi and Gianni Rodari. European Photography wants give its contribute, from the point of view of narrative and imaginative thought.

The remida Day is an event that since 2000 comes to life in the city of Reggio Emilia every year in May.
Generally known for the Domestic Used Fair, it is also connoted for other initiatives in a program of several days dedicated to sustainability, to the theme of reduction and reuse, to reshape the idea of waste, to question the choices and the daily gestures.
Remida, conceived in 1996 in Reggio Emilia, is a cultural project of sustainability, creativity and research on industrial waste materials. It promotes the idea that the discard, the imperfect one, is bearer of an ethical message, able to solicit reflections, to propose itself as educational resource, escaping the definition of useless and refusal.

The Days of Laicity are a festival of cultural deepening on civil rights and citizenship, on free, critical and scientific thought: three days of meetings and appointments with philosophers, sociologists, scientists, scholars and thinkers.

Dinamico Festival is the international festival dedicated to the contemporary circus and music of the city of Reggio Emilia, which in 2020 celebrates ten years.
Four days of shows, concerts and performances divided among different chapiteau, a theatre and one of the most suggestive city parks: Parco del Popolo. On the centenary of the birth of Gianni Rodari (23 October 1920 - 14 April 1980) a series of initiatives that include meetings, exhibitions and recitals to recall one of the most famous Italian writers for the childhood of the 20th century, author of “The grammar of fantasy“ (1973, Einaudi), his main work, a useful volume to "those who believe in the need for imagination to have its place in education; those who trust in childhood creativity; those who know what liberation value the word can have".

It’s a project sponsored by Emilia-Romagna Region e it’s included in the Action Plan in the Biosphere Reserve on the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine.
